Key Elements Group together with Euro Creative co-organized an informative panel discussion “Ukraine and the Balkans: Battleground for Russian Disinformation”.

Russia’s war in Ukraine is ongoing not only on the battlefield, but also in the virtual space. Russian disinformation is targeting Ukraine to both – distort the realities on the ground, and plant false information about its Western partners. Yet, this hybrid war exceeds Ukrainian borders as Russian disinformation is targeting other regions, including the Balkans and the Baltics. The Kremlin is not only spreading its false narratives in these regions but is also trying to create animosity between them.

What are the most common narratives of Russian disinformation? What other targeted countries can learn from lessons learned in Ukraine? How can the West increase its resilience? These questions and much more were by esteemed panelists:

Noah Kroloff – Principal at GSIS and Former Chief of Staff of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Ivana Stradner – Research Fellow at Foundation for Defense of Democracies

Pavlo Verkhniatskyi – Managing Partner at COSA and Member of the International Working Group on Russian Sanctions

Monika Bickauskaite-Aleliune – Director of Public Affairs at Key Elements Group

Moderated by: Romain Le Quiniou – Co-Founder and Managing Director of Euro Creative
